Warriors claim Regional Championship

MONROE — Last year the Regional 1-AA meet came down to the last event as Calvary won the 1600 Relay while Lakeside finished third which gave the Calvary team the win over Lakeside 99-98.

Wednesday, at the ULM Track facility, once again the top two teams would be battling in the final event, the 1600 relay. But this time the championship had already been decided.
The Lakeside Warriors had already secured the title as they lead by 16 points. Even though the Evangel Eagles won the relay with the Warriors finishing second, the Warriors won the championship with 96 points to runner-up Evangel's 83.
