Arrests made in vehicle burglaries at Boardwalk

BOSSIER CITY – Bossier City police made four total arrests in connection with several vehicle burglaries that happened late last Saturday night in a parking lot at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

Thursday, detectives with the BCPD Property Crimes Unit arrested Christopher Darnell Gross, 18, and Bobby Ray Hagins, 17, both of Shreveport on multiple counts of burglary for breaking into several unlocked vehicles in the parking lot near the IHop Restaurant.

Also charged in the case are Anthony Jerrell Gross, 20, and Reginald Demichel Johnson, 17, both of Shreveport, who were arrested Saturday night.

The suspects reportedly were seen late Saturday night going through the parking lot lifting door handles on unlocked vehicles and rummaging through them.

Several items including purses, electronics and money were taken. Officers responded to the scene and began a search for the suspects. Bossier City police also notified Shreveport police of the incident and provided suspect descriptions in case the suspects escaped into Shreveport over the Texas Street Bridge.

A short time later Shreveport police located and stopped two male subjects, later identified as Anthony Gross and Johnson, on bicycles in downtown Shreveport and notified Bossier City police. Both were subsequently arrested by Bossier City police and booked into the Bossier City Jail each on seven counts of simple burglary. Some of the stolen items were also recovered by Bossier City police.
