A Time To Be Born
Cora D. Oliver Bennett was born April 5, 1926 to the late George and Mamie Oliver in Grove. She was the sixth of nine children.

A Time To Plan
Cora D. accepted Christ under the leadership of Rev. C. L. Townsend at Mt. Calm Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She was a great wife, mother and sister. She had a big heart when it came to her family. If she had it, you had it. She had very little education, but she had the knowledge to become a business woman.

A Time To Love
Cora D. married Hoarce Bennett and to this union, two stepsons, Willie and Billy Ray Bennett and an adopted, beautiful little girl, Christine, were added.

A Time To Mourn
Cora D. was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mamie Oliver; her husband, Horace Bennett; daughter, Mary Jane Germany; six sisters, Rosie Oliver, Lenorna Oliver, Noine Oliver, Leor Oliver Thomas, Versie Oliver Walker and Leana Oliver Powell; one stepsister, Georgia Lee Oliver Gilbert; one brother, Nolan Oliver.

A Time To Die
Cora D. departed this life when an angel touched her on the shoulder quietly, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 at Willis Knighton Pierremont Health System ER in Shreveport.

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Christine Murray (Nolan) of Minden; her sister, Dessie Mae Jackson of Minden; two grandsons, Kristopher and Jonathan Murray of Minden; one granddaughter, Ratonya Bennett of Shreveport; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 for Mrs. Cora Oliver Bennett at Mt. Calm Baptist Church with Rev. T.A. Knapp officiating. Interment will follow at Sheppard Street Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Thursday, February 14) in the Chapel of Miller-Pioneer Funeral Home beginning at 9 a.m. Family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.
