Parish property taxes reduced by $500K

In December 2013 Webster Parish Tax Assessor Morris Guin announced an initiative designed to financially benefit Webster Parish property owners and set a historical precedent by saving money for local taxpayers. Now, almost a year later, Guin says he has accomplished exactly what he set out to do and more.

"I am pleased to announce that the goal to reduce Webster Parish property taxes by a half million dollars in tax year 2014 has not only been achieved but exceeded," Guin said. "This year more than $500,000 dollars will be returned to Webster Parish property owners through reduction in their property taxes and my main goal for 2015 is to continue returning property tax dollars to parish tax payers."
