Webster Parish's Community Action Directive (CAD) team parlayed a visit with suspects wanted on warrants for distribution of illegal narcotics into a sizeable drug bust Wednesday and now a Minden couple is looking at additional charges.
Sheriff Gary Sexton said the narcotics unit made contact with 22-year-old Dontravius Royricus Henix as he sat in front of his apartment on Hillside Lane.
"The officers observed in plain view a partially smoked blunt (cigar) containing suspected marijuana," Sexton said. "Mr. Henix was taken into custody on warrants for three counts of distribution of controlled dangerous substance schedule one, marijuana."
Sexton said officers learned from the suspect that additional illegal narcotics were inside his residence.
"He allowed officers inside his residence and showed them the illegal narcotics located in the kitchen cabinet," Sexton said. "Inside the cabinet, officers found a large baggie containing 26 individually wrapped baggies of suspected marijuana."
During the search, officers also found a scale used to weigh narcotics and a grinder used on marijuana. Sexton said Henix told arresting officers he owned all the narcotics in the residence.
In addition to the three warrants, Henix now faces charges of possession of CDS Sch. 1 with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond on the three warrants totals $150,000, Sexton said.
Officers also arrested 18-year-old Paige Larnette Eason, who listed an address in the 300 block of Hillside Lane. Sexton said Eason was picked up on two warrants charging her with distribution of CDS Sch. 1 (marijuana). Bond has been set at $15,000 on each charge.
Both Henix and Eason have been booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, Sexton said.
