Deputies arrest marijuana farmer

SALSBURGAnother closet farmer has been arrested by Webster Parish Sheriff's deputies.

Jason Eric Salsburg, 35, of the 2400 block of Doc Steed Road, is charged with manufacturing CDS Sch. I marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to sheriff's reports, narcotics agents Bobby Igo, III, Joel Thomas and Capt. Robert Hayden received a tip that Salsburg was growing marijuana at his residence.

Late Monday afternoon, deputies went to the residence and told Salsburg why they were there, asked for and were granted permission to search his home.

Hayden reportedly located approximately 23 individual small marijuana plants being grown with lights inside a closet.

When advised of his rights, Salsburg stated he was growing the marijuana and admitted ownership of the plants, a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana and several partially-smoked marijuana roaches, also located during the search.

Salsburg was transported to the Webster Parish Courthouse for booking and was transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
