Springhill lawn mower thefts lead to arrest

SPRINGHILL — One man is in custody for the alleged theft of three high-dollar lawn mowers from a Springhill major discount outlet and the hunt is on for two accomplices in last week's burglary.

Springhill Chief of Police Will Lynd said Tuesday, a week ago, three men wearing masks and gloves drove a U-Haul truck to the outdoor lawn mower display at the discount store, cut chains to the zero-turn lawnmowers, loaded them onto the truck and made their getaway. Value of the mowers is approximately $7,000, Lynd said.
