Means — Moore united in marriage

Anna Elizabeth Means of Gloster and Dr. Justin Boone Moore of Minden were united in marriage at six o’clock in the evening on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Roseneath Plantation in Gloster.  The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Tom Harrison.  Music for the ceremony was provided by the Festival String Quartet and Brian and Dana Ogilvie, vocalists.


Following the ceremony, the reception was also held at Roseneath Plantation with music provided by Windstorm of Shreveport. Floral decor for the wedding ceremony and reception was designed and provided by Kendall Bailey of Kendall and Company. The wedding cake was designed and created by Alyson Foreman of A Piece of Cake.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Beverly Means, III of Gloster.  She is the granddaughter of the late

Mr. and Mrs. David Beverly Means, Jr. of Gloster and Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Moore of Shreveport.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Calvin Moore of Minden. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Moore of Norphlet, Arkansas and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wilson of Eldorado, Arkansas.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory silk taffeta strapless gown with a ruched bodice and sweetheart neckline. Taffeta and organza flowers adorned the skirt. The hand tied bridal bouquet was composed of Chablis freesia, French Lace hydrangea, Alabaster garden roses, Porcelana spray roses, Duchesse de Nemours peonies and Madagascar jasmine.

Mrs. Molly Hogan Wierick of Shreveport served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Kathryn Bishop Stenslie of Columbus, Georgia, Mrs. Emily Haberman Roe of Warrensburg, Missouri, Mrs. Emily Kathryn Pruitt of Shreveport, Mrs. Amanda Thompson Mahoney of Shreveport and Miss Alexandra Taylor Janss of Austin, Texas.

The bridesmaids wore one shoulder dresses by designer Lynn Lugo from Bella Bridesmaid. In clover silk shantung, the dresses have a tulip skirt with a slight sweetheart neckline and flower detail on the strap. The bride’s house party included Jessica Nicole Bustamante of Shreveport and Catherine Lauren Szot of Houston, Texas.

The three flower girls were Zoey Angelina Moore and Sage Savannah Moore, nieces of the groom, and Emily Lynne Edwards. Scripture readings were given by Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Thomas Adcock and Mr. Jordan Lang Stevens.

Mr. Craig Carson Walker of Maumelle, Arkansas served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Shannon Cody Moore of Jonesboro, Arkansas, brother of the groom, Dr. Chuka Victor Ifeanyi of Coralville, Iowa, Mr. Jared Luke Tims of Shrevepor, Mr. Shane Michael Crocker of Keller, Texas and Mr. Beau Ryan Roberts of Shreveport.

Ushers were Jeffery Steele Means, brother of the bride, and Dr. Ryan Gary Master. John Aaron Edwards and Dutton Douglas Day, the groom’s nephew, were junior ushers for the evening.

Anna is a 1998 graduate of Central High School in Grand Cane and a 2002 of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center with a Master of Physical Therapy in 2005 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008.

Justin is a 1999 graduate of Glenbrook High School in Minden and a 2003 graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. He graduated from LSU Medical Center in Shreveport in 2009 and is currently an Emergency Medicine resident at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.
