FARMERVILLE — The Glenbrook Apaches and Lady Apaches got two big district wins over Union Christian Tuesday night in Farmerville.
The Apaches used a suffocating defense to tame the Lions, 64-21, and the Lady Apaches won, 46-36.
The Apaches led by just four points (14-4) after the first quarter, but then limited the Lions to just 11 points the rest of the way. They led 48-14 at the half and 58-15 going into the fourth quarter.
With the big lead, the Apaches were able to clear their bench.
Cade Spurlock led the Apaches with 17 points and Jalen Patterson had 15. Sam Marvin scored 11 and Regan Edwards added eight.
"We came out strong and jumped ahead of them from the beginning," Lady Apache coach Rendi Dillard said. "They made a few runs but we never lost control. We had some girls get in foul trouble and that hurt us, but we pulled it out. I am so proud of all the girls they have really worked hard to turn their season around."
Carsin Spurlock led the Lady Apaches with 14 points and Lauren Sims added 11. Shelby Nicholas had six, Jessica Mangrum had five and Macie Branch and Hannah Harris both scored four. Karmen Underwood added two.
Glenbrook will host Franklin Thursday at the Rec in their Annual Senior Night.
