Ms. Lydia Heinz Silvis, 57, of Minden entered into rest Nov. 19, 2012 after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Lydia was born June 9, 1955 in Fulda, Germany. She came to the United States in 1989 and made Minden her home in 1997. She resided at Lamplighter Apartments, formerly owned by Dr. and Mrs. Richard Baker, which was like a part of her own family. Her children and grandchildren were her passion and delight.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Silvis and fiancé Amanda Steiner of Minden, Angela Silvis and fiancé Justin Spears of Minden, Katherine Hamilton and fiancé Jeremy Jones of Taylor and Michael Hamilton and fiancé Mary Thomas of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and her grandsons: Glenn Hamilton, Joseph Rayner, Jr., Ashton Rayner, Karsten Hamilton, Kelton Hamilton and Logan Steiner.
She is also survived by sisters, Sieglinde Heinz and Ulrike Heinz; brothers, Egon Heinz, Wolfgang Heinz, Udo Heinz, Gerhard Heinz, Michael Krieger, Martin Krieger, Harald Krieger and Christian Krieger- all of Germany.
She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Annemarie Heinz Krieger; and her brothers, Robert Heinz and Mark Heinz, all of Germany.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Hwy. 159 north of Minden. Officiating will be Rev. Jerry Brannen. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 23, 2012) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
