AA Minden Continentals fall just short

The AA Minden Continentals fell just one game short of a State Championship, as the Shreveport Americans swept them in a pair of games on Tuesday at the Minden Recreation Complex.

Shreveport beat Minden 16-12 in Game 1 to set up an all-or-nothing Game 2. In the second game, Shreveport rolled 13-2 win.

Game 1: Shreveport 16, Minden 12

Brett Remedies had four hits and Jadyn Falls had three to lead Shreveport. Mason Langdon had two doubles and Bradley Gibson and Ty Henton both singled and doubled. Cade Nettles and Caleb Marks both had two singles and John Jordan, Tackett Curtis and Brock Lambert added base hits.

Peyton Wells led Minden with two singles and a double. Andrew Cooper singled twice and Roman Tolbert doubled. Maddox Mandino, Andrew Fegley, C.J. Watts, Landon Hopkins, Dillon Miller, Jake Wilkins and Kenny James all added base hits.

Game 2: Shreveport 113, Minden 2

Caleb Meeks, Brett Remedies, Bradley Gibson and John Jordan each had two hits to lead Shreveport. Mason Langdon doubled and Tackett Curtis, Cade Nettles, Mitchell Ramsey, Jadyn Falls and Ty Henton all added base hits.

Connor Humphries led Minden with two hits, and Maddox Mandino, Peyton Wells and Roman Tolbert all added singles.

The AA Minden Continentals will take part in the Dixie AA World Series that will be played in Searcy, Arkansas, July 20-24th.
