“The url remains the same; however, visitors to nwlanews.com or press-herald.com will be treated to new features that are easy to use and will hopefully encourage greater interaction for our readers and a more attractive option for our advertisers,” said Press-Herald publisher Josh Beavers.
Both www.nwlanews.com and www.press-herald.com will direct users to the new site.
This is the third redesign of the Press-Herald’s web site. The last redesign came in 2006 when the Press-Herald and sister paper the Bossier Press Tribune joined to form a single Internet information portal.
“This new site is a Press-Herald site, not a joint one with our friends in Bossier,” Beavers said. “We will be offering Internet advertising packages, though, to both sites if our advertisers wish to be on both sites.”
The new Press-Herald site has the option to view news feeds from the Associated Press as well as utilizing social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.
“We can do a great many things with this site that we could not do with our old one,” Beavers said. “Web Editor Bruce Franklin is quite inventive with the site, and I’m sure we will be bringing our readers new and interesting things to strike a good balance between our print edition and the online edition.”
