A best two-out-of-three playoff series was played last night in the AAA division to determine the seeding of the two teams as they begin All-Star play.
The Continentals beat the Nationals in the first two games and will now be the host team when the District Tournament begins in Minden on July 5. The Nationals will play in Ruston this Friday.
Game 1: Continentals 18, Nationals 7
Jeffery Wallace struck out three batters and singled and doubled to lead the Continentals. Cade Clemons doubled and Chance Mitchell, J.C. Brown and Greg Douglas all singled.
Hayden Brown had two singles and Trey Ware doubled. Carson Fields added a single.
Game 2: Continentals 21, Nationals 10
Cade Clemons and Austin King both singled and doubled to lead the Continentals. Jerestin Baugh and Beau Branch both doubled and Greg Douglas, Jeffery Wallace and Je'dyah Taylor all singled.
Carson Fields singled for the only hit for the Nationals.
AAA Games from last Friday: Gulf State Consulting 18, Walraven Red Sox 5
Ryan Sheets struck out seven batters and singled to lead Gulf State. Krystopher Stewart singled and doubled and Cason Bates and Keaton Moore both singled.
Jonathan Parkerson struck out four batters to lead the Red Sox. Jacob Corke had two singles and Trent Walraven had a double.
Hooper Machine 23, Gibsland Bank & Trust 8
Gavin Jackson, James Killingsworth and Brian Foster all had base hits to lead Hooper Machine.
Hayden Brown struck out six batters and added a base hit to lead GB&T. Seth Johnson also had a base hit.
This week's All-Star games
The Pitching Machine District IV Tournament will begin on Thursday at the Minden Recreation Complex and will run through Sunday.
All girls' softball league All-Stars will also begin play at the Minden Recreation Complex this week.
The Darlings, Angels, Ponytails and Belles All-Stars will begin play this Saturday and the tournament will last through Wednesday, July 4.
