Rodell was born July 17, 1935 in Minden to the late Tom and Parthine Bailey.

At a very young age, Rodell joined Mt. Calm Baptist Church in Minden. In his later years, at Upward to Jesus Baptist Church, he did missionary work with his wife, Juanita.

He was a graduate of Webster High School, Minden. He later received his B.S. in History from Southern University in Baton Rouge.

Rodell later enlisted in the United States Army where he served five years. He met and married his first wife, Hazel Robertson, after moving to Compton, California. Rodell taught school in Compton until his wife died. To this union, no children were born.

After moving back to Minden, Rodell met and married his loving wife, Juanita Johnson Bailey of 28 years. To this union, no children were born, but he became a great step-father to Juanita's son, John R. Hall.

Rodell taught school for many years at Webster High School and Central. He later became employed by Inland Container in Minden. He retired after 25 years of service and took a full-time job at Wal-Mart as a Maintenance Associate until his death.

Rodell was a faithful husband and a very hard worker. One of his favorite quotes of many: "nothing will happen without a cause and/or an effect."

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Parthine Bailey; two sisters, Mary Helen Bailey Odom Hood and Maggie Bailey; two brothers, Thomas Luetellus Bailey and Bobby Joe Bailey.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Juanita Johnson Bailey; step-son, John R. Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
