Heflin library renewed

Usage to be assessed at October board meeting

Heflin's shuttered library branch is set to reopen Friday, December 16, according to Webster Parish Library Director Beverly Hammett.

Operating hours will be 2 until 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Dedra Harris will manage the branch and Lyndie Procell will serve as library page.

The branch was closed August 4 after both heat pump cooling units failed. Additional concerns over low usage, security and repair expenses, including a water leak discovered after the closure, placed the branch's fate on the agenda of WPL's October 28 board meeting.
