Hunger and thirst

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Matthew 5:6 NASB

The fourth Beatitude describes a disciple as one who hungers and thirsts for righteousness. This disciple craves righteousness as much as a starving person craves food. The psalmist describes this desire as one yearning for water in a dry and weary land.
