Toy drive under way

Local good Samaritans are gearing up for the traditional "Civitan Santa" toy drive, and they need Minden's help.

The annual Christmas Toy Program "Civitan Santa," jointly sponsored by the Minden Civitan Club and the Young Woman's Service Club, is seeking donations to make 2012 a happy holiday for local children.

"Last year this program provided toys for almost 700 children in over 200 families in the area," toy chairman Ed LaBruyere said. "We were able to run this program due to the generosity of local businesses and individuals who donated money plus hundreds of dollars worth of new toys for the children."
