Funeral services for Mrs. Eloise Matlock McKinney, age 84, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Searight officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Presbyterian Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing, LA.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in Plain Dealing.
Mrs. McKinney, a lifelong resident of this area, went to her eternal home on Saturday, July 23, 2011 in Bossier City.
She was a faithful member and Elder of the Rocky Mount Presbyterian Church and a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Over The Hill Gang and The Gathering. She was an excellent cook and loved to decorate her home for each of the different seasons. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, C. J. "Buddy" McKinney, on April 21, 2005; by a grandson, Kevin Keen on July 22, 2006; her parents, Richard H. and Linnie Bell Coile Matlock, two sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy M. Thomas and husband, Johnny ; Donna Emfinger and husband Mike, all of Bossier City, LA; granddaughter, Sunny Thomas Posey and husband, Eric; great-grandsons, Andrew and Matthew Posey; a sister, Hattie Belle Overton, of Shreveport and a number of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Blewett, James Brittentine, David Majors, Sidney McKinney, Ray Nelson and Eric Posey.
