A Ringgold woman is dead after an automobile accident in Bienville Parish.
According to Troop G trooper Cordell Williams, the 1992 Toyota Corolla in which Kathy Brown, 54, was riding, was traveling north on Pine Bluff Road when it veered off the left side of the roadway.
It traveled approximately 12 feet before it reportedly struck a concrete culvert and stopped.
"As a result of the crash, the passenger car sustained moderate damage to the left front fender," Williams said.
Following the crash, the driver, 62-year-old Gladys Glover Jordan of Ringgold, and Brown exited the passenger car and were walking around the crash scene as they awaited arrival of first responders.
"A relative transported the driver to Minden Medical Center by private auto for minor injuries," Williams said.
The passenger was transported by ground ambulance to LSU Health Sciences Center emergency room for moderate injuries.
"Upon arrival at the LSU-HSC emergency room, it was discovered the passenger had sustained unknown internal injuries," Williams said. "She was immediately rushed into surgery; however, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians."
