Our office coordinated a video production with Bob Courtney and the production crew of "LA Rider-America on 2 Wheels" in Sarepta on July 25.
The show is to feature the newly-established "Boom or Bust Byway" along Highway 2. La Rider TV is a television program specifically targeting motorcycle riders and broadcasts out of Baton Rouge. The Louisiana Office of Tourism is a major sponsor of this new program featuring the scenic byways of our state.
The production in Sarepta included interviews with our office about what Webster Parish has to offer the motorcyclist. They also interviewed the mayor of Sarepta, Mayor E.L. Edwards about the history of Sarepta and Peggy Adkins about her famous son, Trace Adkins, and his beginning in music singing in the church choir.
The show airs on the Fox Sports South Network in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Additionally, the program is broadcast on the Fox Network in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Lafayette and New Orleans.
The show began broadcasting in our area on October 7 on KMSS TV Fox 33 on Sundays at 10 a.m. The show filmed on the "Boom or Bust Byway" is tentatively scheduled to air on Fox 33 on Sunday, October 28 at 10 a.m.

The City of Minden will participate in the Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights this year. They have joined with Shreveport, Natchitoches, Monroe and Alexandria to promote our communities during the 2012 holiday season.
This is terrific opportunity for the City of Minden and Webster Parish to be included in this major regional initiative.

New Directional Signage for Germantown Museum.
During the week of September 16th, the Louisiana Department of Transportation installed new directional signage guiding visitors to the Germantown Colony Museum just in time for the Bluegrass Festival..
In July of 2010, the Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne announced a new tourism campaign titled "Heroes and Heritage Trail where visitors to 10 of the 17 Department of State museums can receive a free night's stay at the Old State Capital. Germantown is one of the Department of State museums and therefore, the new signage identifies the Heroes and Heritage Trial logo.
