Minden little leaguers back on the field

Little Tiders, Haynie Ind.  get wins

The 2012 Minden Recreation Department's little league football season began last week with a full slate of games.

Here's a look at how those games turned out.

Second to 4th-graders

Minden Athletic Crimson Tide 13, Haynie Industries Hawks 12

Carson Parker led the Crimson Tide with 74 yards rushing. He had touchdown runs of 34 and 25-yards. Landen Hopkins added 43 yards.

Hopkins and Jyrell McClendon led the Tide defense.

Collin Harris led the Hawks with a 75-yard touchdown run. Justin Richardson added a 30-yard touchdown. Markadius Holland (four yards), Jordan Young (four) and Cedric Williams (two) all added yards.

Carson Ayres, Harris, Holland and Richardson all led the team in tackles.

Little Tiders 7, Gibsland Bank & Trust 6

Shundell Gill led the Little Tiders with 33 yards and Keith Dickerson added a 50-yard fumble return for a touchdown. Cartez Alexander added a one-point conversion, and Ty'Darrium Green and Caleb Rhodes both added yards.

Dickerson, Jaylenn Jackson, Braydon Reeves and Kristopher Redden all led the defense in tackles.

Travion Sanders led GB&T with 76 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown.

Shadrick Siah, Cameron Combs, Cade Ebarb and Raymond Dilliard Jr. all led the team in tackles.

Fifth and 6th-graders

Haynie Industries Mohawks 28, Cactus Wellhead 6

Lacarios Lofton led the Mohawks with 217 yards. He scored on runs of 62, 55, 34 and 10-yards. Charles Oliver has 18 yards and four one-point conversions, and Tyrin Elkins added four yards.

Lofton, Cameron Barton, Reagan McDonald, Elkins and Austin Herren all led the team in tackles.

J.C. Brown led Cactus Wellhead with 61 yards and a two-yard touchdown run. Thomas Ben had 47 yards and Ken'Darrius (no last name listed) added 32. David Joseph ran for 13 and D.J. Powell had seven.

Brown, Shane Siah and Jaylon Duty all led the defense.

Minden Athletic Crimson Tide 26, Patillo Punishers 0

De'Audrick Gill led the Crimson Tide with 91 yards, including touchdown runs of 37 and 10-yards. Nathaniel White added 94 yards and a 45-yard score, and Tyquaun Edwards ran for 59 yards with a 21-yard touchdown. Kentrevion Rogers added 11 yards and two one-point conversions.

White, Edwards, Braxton Jackson and Alonzo Lister all led the team in tackles.

Chance Mitchell led the Punishers with 39 yards. Jecareon Lathan added 12, Tyrese Myles had 11 and Samuel Shaw ran for five yards.

The Punisher defense was led by Mitchell, Jalen Deloach and Tyrese Myles.
