An evening out ended on a bad note for a husband and wife who had a disagreement after returning home.
Kenneth Casey, 27, of the 300 block of Gum Street, is charged with felony domestic abuse for allegedly trying to choke his wife.
Chief Steve Cropper said the wife told Off. Shawn Jenkins that during the disagreement, Casey grabbed her around the neck.
"He began choking her, causing lacerations on both sides of her neck," Cropper said. "As the victim was attempting to get away from Casey, he pushed her to the floor. While she was on the floor, he knocked over a television set which struck her on the leg, causing scratches and bruises."
A few days later, an arrest warrant with a bond of $25,000 was obtained for Casey, and Friday, August 24, Lt. Dan Weaver and Lt. Richard Cooper made contact with Casey at his residence, advised him of his Miranda Rights and arrested him on the outstanding warrant.
Casey was booked at the police department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
