Lady Warriors and Lady Panthers on the road tonight
The LHSAA basketball playoff brackets were announced Friday afternoon, and five Webster Parish teams will be in action.
The Lady Warriors from Lakeside and the Doyline Lady Panthers made the girls' playoffs and will play their opening round games tonight, and the boys' teams from Lakeside, Doyline and North Webster will begin action tomorrow.
The Lakeside Lady Warriors closed out their regular season with a 14-14 record, good enough to claim the #28 seed in Class 2A.
The Lady Warriors will play a familiar foe in the first rounds, the Jonesboro-Hodge Lady Tigers. Jonesboro-Hodge beat the Lady Warriors twice this season.
The two teams will tip off at 7 p.m. tonight in Jonesboro.
The Doyline Lady Panthers (17-12) enter the playoffs as the #19 seed in Class B. The Lady Panthers will play at Pitkin tonight.
Pitkin (10-22) goes into the playoffs as the #14 seed.
The Lakeside Warriors enter the Class 2A playoffs with a 17-11 record and the #22 overall seed in Class 2A.
The Warriors will play at Winnfield on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $7 per person.
The Winnfield Tigers claimed the #11 overall seed, as they went 13-10 in District 3-2A.
The Doyline Panthers (14-14) will open their playoff run with a home playoff game Tuesday, when they host the Summerfield Rebels.
The Panthers, #16 seed in Class B, and the Rebels, #17 seed, played three times this year. The Panthers won the first two meetings, 75-64 and 70-67, and the Rebels took the latest match-up, 95-64.
The North Webster Knights (19-9) will also open at home, as they host the St. Helena Central Hawks.
North Webster enters the playoffs as Class 2A's #13 seed, while the Hawks come in at #20.
