Magnolia, AR. — The Glenbrook Apaches traveled to Magnolia, Arkansas to play Columbia Christian Monday night and came home with an 80-58 win.
The Apaches led 21-14 at the end of the first quarter and then increased their lead to 43-26 at the half. The Apaches out-scored
Columbia Christian in the third quarter 21-12 and then CC took the fourth quarter 20-16.
"We played very good team basketball," Glenbrook head coach Chris Kourvelas said. "We (the coaching staff) were pleased at how our young men came out tonight and took control of the game early and did not allow ourselves to get too sloppy. We limited our turnovers and created turnovers, we rebounded well and took good shots. However, we still struggled from the free throw line.We were pleased with everyone's effort tonight and hope it will continue into tomorrow when we will travel to PVA at 3:30pm to play them."
Wesley Hicks led the Apaches with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Devin James had 17 points, seven rebounds, three steals and 3 assists, and Cade Spurlock had 11points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists. Zach Specht added 10 points and eight rebounds and Caydan Maloney scored seven points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Cory Walker added seven points and five rebounds and Terez "Mookie" Mac had six points and eight rebounds.
The Apaches will travel to Bastrop tonight to take on the Prairie View Academy Spartans.
