Pattern for prayer: Praising

"And He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come." Luke 11:2 NASB

Using the word PRAY as an acrostic, the letter "P" stands for praising. Praising is recognizing God and His holy nature and showing awe and reverence to Him. Jesus taught that prayer is an intimate communication between a believer and the Heavenly Father. Through prayer we can deepen our personal relationship with God by drawing close to Him.

Nevertheless, He is separated from us because He is a Holy God. We must recognize His unique nature and qualities, such as His mighty power and His amazing love. We must give Him the honor and praise He deserves.

Lord God, You are the Almighty and Holy One, my Refuge and Strength, my Redeemer and Savior. I desire to praise, glorify, and honor You all day long.
