Deer management seminar hosted by Trailblazers

Trailblazer Resource Conservation and Development and the Webster Parish Police Jury will host a seminar, "Managing Whitetail Deer," on September 27at 6:30 p.m. at Minden Farm And Garden, located at 1307 Sibley Road.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and Dave Moreland will be the featured speaker. The seminar is free to the public, and light refreshments will be served.

Landowners, entrepreneurs, hunters, foresters, farmers, community leaders, and the general public may find Moreland's knowledge and experience to be invaluable.

In the August 22, 2007 edition of Louisiana Sportsman magazine, Tom Masson said of David Moreland, "He's influenced deer management in Louisiana more than anyone else in the last two decades, and no one can take more credit for the deer rebound in our state than him."

Moreland has a graduate degree in biology from Northeast Louisiana University, and retired after 31 years with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. During his tenure, he served as the head of the Wildlife division.
