M.C. 'Ken' Gray

Gray001Funeral services for Mr. M.C. "Ken" Gray, 79, will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Cotton Valley Church of Christ with Bro. Harley Sisson, Sr. and Bro. Garland Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Cotton Valley Cemetery with full military graveside rites under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Cotton Valley.

Visitation will be today at 9 a.m. at the Cotton Valley Church of Christ, Cotton Valley.

Mr. Gray was born August 15, 1931 in Dubach to Melton M. and Ludie L. Thomas Gray and passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 in Shreveport.

He was a resident of Cotton Valley, a member of Cotton Valley Church of Christ and a self-employed insurance salesman. Mr. Gray was a member of the North Webster Industrial Board for 18 years. He served the American Legion Post 166 as the area Commander, Commander-4th District, Vice Commander, was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of 40 & 8 Voiture #137 and served many other organizations.

He is survived by his daughters, Elesha Williamson and husband, Chris of Sarepta, Elaine Good and husband, Dennis of Sugarland, Texas and Taryn Jones and husband, Mark of Shreveport; grandchildren, Danielle White and husband, Terry of Brandon, Mississippi, Loyd Williamson of Shreveport, Jessica Jones and Robby Jones.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren, Tristan, Dylan, Brayden, Camden, Layla, Lucas and Ellie Grace; nephew, Donald Gray of West Monroe; sister-in-law, Van Austell of Houston, Texas; extended family, Idelle Sims of Shongaloo, and her children, Melba Hill and husband, Sam, Sherry Smith and husband, Butch, SuEllen Kirk and husband, Richard and Tony Sims and wife, Lindy and their families.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Tanya "Ann" Gray; brother, John Thomas Gray; and grandson, Brandon Good.

Special thanks to our "soul" sister, Leah Digilorma, nurses and doctors at Willis Knighton 5th Floor.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Slack, Harvey Blake, Bernard Roberts, Robert Coleman, Rodney Butts and Sam Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be American Legion Post 166 and members of Voiture 137 Shreveport 40 & 8.
