Funeral services for Mr. Charles Haywood Elliott, 67, will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Oak Grove Assembly of God Church with Bro. Buddy Craft officiating.
Interment will follow in Plain Dealing Cemetery with military graveside rites by Barksdale Honor Guard under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing.
Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 5 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Elliott was born Nov. 11, 1944 in Jena to C.J. and Minnie Mae Roark Elliott and passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 in Shreveport.
He had been a resident of Plain Dealing since 1993 and a former resident of Springhill. Mr. Elliott was a faithful member and deacon of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church and was retired from Century Link (CenturyTel Phone Company). He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy Miller of Bossier City and Cheryl Cook and husband, Mitchell of Plain Dealing; son, T.J. Elliott of Stonewall; grandchildren, Dustin Miller, Jr., Josh Miller, Christina Cook, Carlie Cook and Jordan Miller; and brother, Bobby Elliott.
Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Peck Elliott; and many brothers and sisters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Walter Peck, Jamie Elliott, Ryan Peck, T.J. Elliott, Joshua Miller and Mitchell Cook.
