Herman Lee was born June 27, 1927 in Webster Parish to the union of Eugene and Lela Richardson Lee. He departed this earthly life on August 6, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vergie Baker; and four brothers, Aaron, Perry, Robert and Tommie Lee.
He confessed Christ at an early age at St. Mark Baptist Church and later united with New Zion Baptist Church. God then sent him to New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and faithful member until he was called from earthly labor to heavenly reward.
Herman retired from Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 18 years, Edna Jones Lee; three sons from his previous marriage, Herman, Jr. (Sharon), Anderson Ward (Ann), both of Houston and Roy from Doyline; one sister, Bertha Armstrong of Bossier City; and one brother, Arthur Lee (Annette) of Plain Dealing.
He will also be missed by 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Cedric Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be today (Friday, August 10) from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Kennon's Mortuary, with family hour from 6 until 7 p.m.
