A look at this week’s basketball games

The high school basketball season gets started in earnest this week as all the Webster Parish teams will be in action.

Minden High

The Crimson Tide and Lady Tiders will begin their week with homes games against Lakeside tonight at the Palace at Minden High.

The action tips off at 5 p.m. with a junior varsity boys game, followed at 6 p.m. by the varsity girls and the boys will cap off the night at 7 p.m.

The rest of the week the two teams will take part in the Haughton Tournament. The Lady Tiders will play Ruston at 4 p.m. and the Tide will play Green Oaks at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Lakeside

The Warriors and Lady Warriors head to Minden tonight for three games (junior varsity boys, varsity girls and varsity boys) beginning at 5 p.m.

The two Lakeside teams will finish out the week at the Haughton Tournament.

The Warriors will play North DeSoto at 5:25 p.m. on Wednesday, and the Lady Warriors will take on Northwood at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The Lady Warriors played the Haughton Lady Bucs tough Saturday night before losing 57-50 in overtime.

Haughton jumped out early and led 31-18 at the half, but the Lady Warriors fought back and tied the game at 47-47 at the end of regulation to force overtime. But Haughton out-scored Lakeside 10-3 in the extra period to take the win.

Shanae Collins led the Lady Warriors with 27 points.

Glenbrook

The Apaches and Lady Apaches will travel to Coushatta for a pair of games with Riverdale tonight.

Both teams will close out the week with games in the Riverdale Double Header.

The Apaches will play Prairie View Academy in Coushatta on Thursday, and then play Claiborne Academy there on Saturday morning.

Doyline

The Doyline Panthers and Lady Panthers will host Summerfield for a pair of games on Thursday.

North Webster

The Knights and Lady Knights will tip off their 2012-13 seasons with a pair of games in Plain Dealing against La. New Tech.
