Austin Keough throws complete game victory
NATCHITOCHES — The Minden Crimson Tide scored three runs in the top of the third inning and then held on for a 3-1 win over Natchitoches-Central (NC) on Thursday.
Austin Keough pitched an outstanding game, taking the win for the Tide. He threw a seven-inning complete game allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out six.
Thomas Pevy led off the third inning with a single to start the Tide rally. Turner Francis then reached on an error by the NC shortstop, and Pevy and Francis advanced to second and third. Pevy later scored on another NC error.
McCaul Lacobee followed with a hit by pitch, putting runners at first and third. Austin Sumner drove in Francis from third with a single, and Lacobee would later score on a passed ball.
Natchitoches would score a single run in the fourth, but Keough would shut them down after that, retiring 10 of the last 11 batters he faced.
Pevy led the Minden offense with a two-for-two day, and Sumner added a RBI-single. Carson Bolyer added the other base hit for the Tide.
The Crimson Tide will be back in action Saturday afternoon as they host the North Webster Knights at noon at Griffith Stadium.
