Services to honor the life of Lionel John Dupree will be held Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minden. Officiating will be Father Mark Franklin. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden.
Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013, with a rosary beginning at 6 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden.
John was born Jan. 10, 1936 in Simmesport and went to be with our Lord on Feb. 24, 2013. He served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted partner of 26 years, Mercedes.
He is also survived by sister, Luby Wade; brother, Laura Dupree; son, Guy Dupree; daughter, Monique DeClue; adopted daughter, Carol Huff; and dedicated stepdaughter, Monica Clark.
He will be deeply missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as a loving host of friends.
The family gives a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Taylor, Dr. Alexander and Dr. Le, as well as the 1st and 5th floor ICU nurses at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
Pallbearers will be Robert Clark, John Waldron, Tristin Waldron, Laura Dupree, Jim Dupree, Jr., and Frank Wade. Honorary pallbearers are Ty Waldron, Tommy Elshout, Dick Wade, Frank Gordon, Derrek Amidon and Daniel Amidon
