J.L. Jones Elementary Second grade teacher receives a classroom rug

J.L. Jones second grade teacher Richard Lane and his students spend a lot of time on the rug in his classroom and needed to replace the old one and get a new, bright, fun carpet. Thanks to a nearly $500 donation from Horace Mann local agent, Ashley Orr, Mr. Lane's students have a new place to sit.

Since beginning its partnership with DonorsChoose.org, Horace Mann has donated more than $2 million dollars to projects posted on the website. In 2013, nearly 670 projects have been funded at schools served by Horace Mann agents at a total of $406,000.
