Friends remember Chief Bloxom

He was Cameron to those of his generation who knew him well. To just about everyone else, he was Chief. Even that reference may have been a little confusing since he wore a pair of Chief's badges as head of both the police and fire departments.

But most importantly, those who worked with and for T.C. Bloxom Jr. considered him simply, The Best.

"There was something about the chief. There were so many things he did for people that will never be known," said MPD Capt. Dan Weaver, a police investigator who worked for Bloxom from the time he was sworn in as chief in 1991 until he retired in 2011.
