Shoplifter arrested after punching deputy

Guy_ForakerHAUGHTON – A shoplifter is jailed after punching a Bossier Sheriff's Office deputy who was working off-duty security at a grocery store on U.S. Hwy. 80 in Haughton.

Guy T. Foraker, 49, of Lindsey Road in Haughton, exited the Brookshire's shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday allegedly without paying for two gallons of water.

In his hasty departure from the store, he reportedly shoved another Bossier deputy who happened to be entering the store shop.

The officer working security approached Foraker at his vehicle in the parking lot and questioned him about the unpaid purchases.

Foraker reportedly became agitated, pulled away from the deputy when he tried to restrain him and punched the deputy in the face multiple times.

The deputy then deployed pepper spray and was able to subdue Foraker after a brief struggle.

A couple of store employees were also injured during the incident when Foraker allegedly tried to bite them.

The deputy suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Foraker was charged with battery of a peace officer, resisting by force of violence, theft of goods, two counts of simple battery and one count of simple assault and transported to the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.
