A newly-seated grand jury has handed down indictments for two separate cases dealing with aggravated rape.
Michael Dale Downs, 34, of the 300 block of Magnolia Camp Road, Cotton Valley, was indicted on one count of aggravated rape.
Bossier-Webster District Attorney Schuyler Marvin said Downs will also be billed on forcible rape, two counts of molestation of a juvenile and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
He said the only charges he would put before a grand jury are aggravated rape and murder.
"We file a bill of information on the rest of the charges," Marvin said.
According to reports, Downs allegedly committed these acts from March, 2012 to January 2013. He was arrested January 11 of this year by Springhill Police.
There were reportedly two victims in the case – one under the age of 13 and one 14 or older.
Andre Demery, 43, of the 100 block of Willi Beatrice Road, Arcadia, was indicted for aggravated rape, and he will be billed with aggravated incest of a family member under the age of 13, according to the DA's office.
All infractions are alleged to have happened in Webster Parish between October and November, 2012. Demery was arrested Dec. 5, 2012 by the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office.
A spokesperson for Marvin's office said she hopes to have Downs and Demery on the court docket for arraignment February 4.
