The Lakeside Warriors took a pair of losses over the weekend at the Minden High Invitational.
In the first game, Lakeside lost a heart-breaker to North DeSoto, 10-8, on a walk-off home run.
"It was a good ball game," Lakeside coach Bob Gray said. "It was a good game for us. We stayed in it all the way. The North DeSoto kid just made a good swing on a good pitch, and that was it."
Lakeside scored a pair of runs in the top of fifth and sixth innings to even the score North DeSoto at 8-8, but North DeSoto scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 10-8 win.
North DeSoto's Louis Vig hit a two-run walk-off home run off Lakeside's Austin Ashley for the win.
Lakeside banged out nine hits in the game including two doubles and two RBIs from both Luke Griffith and Thomas Lambert. Payton Johnson had a double and three RBIs, and Jake Gray, Braeden Robinson, Cameron Corely and Chase Woodall added base hits.
Against Bastrop, Corely started and pitched well for Lakeside but ended up with the loss.
"We felt he gave us the best pitched game of the weekend," Gray said.
Johnson, Ashley, Griffith, Robinson and Corely all had hits.
