High Honors

High Honors

Tommy McMurray (right) presents Todd Buffington with the Melvin Jones Fellowship, the highest award a Lion can receive. Both are members of Minden Evening Lions Club which meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays at the fairgrounds. McMurray said the award is named for the founder of Lions Club International.  The Minden Chapter donated $1,000 to Lions Club International to be used for eyesight conservation. In return, the club received the award and chose Buffington to honor. McMurray said Buffington works on fund-raisers and projects for the club year-round and has perfect attendance.
