WASKOM, TEXAS - The Glenbrook Apaches rolled to a 4-0 run in the Waskom (Texas) High School Tournament in Waskom, Texas to bring home the Tournament Championship.
The Apaches beat Carthage (Tex.) High School, 9-5, in the title game on Saturday.
Caleb Wilson and Cameron Matthews each had a pair of RBI-singles, and Connor Clark went two-for-four with two RBIs to lead the Apache offense.
Bailey Pettite had a single and two RBIs, and Spencer White doubled. Connor Copeland had a RBI-single and Logan Clark and Jacob White added base hits.
"I thought we played pretty well," Glenbrook head coach Jonathan Hardy said. "We improved to 5-2 and played well, but we have our first district game coming up this week."
Monday night the Apaches traveled to Monroe to take on the River Oaks Mustangs.
Behind the outstanding pitching by the White brothers, the Apaches beat River Oaks, 6-2.
Spencer White started the game and pitched the first 3 1/3 innings, giving up just one earned run while striking out two. Jacob White relieved his brother in the fourth, and pitched the final 3 2/3 innings. He struck out six batters and took the win.
Dalton Scruggs and Conner Copeland each had RBI-singles, and Logan Clark, Caleb Wilson, and Jacob White added base hits.
The Apaches are now 6-2 on the year.
