“Donors are invited to give in memory or in honor of anyone they wish on Friday, May 27, Saturday, May 28 and Tuesday, May 31 in recognition of Memorial Day,” said LifeShare Blood Centers’ representative, Kenna Thompson. “Donors can donate blood at any of the designated area locations and possibly win a WalMart gift card, as all donors will be automatically registered.”
A gift card will be given away from each location. A random drawing will be held Wednesday, June 1. All winners will be notified via telephone.
Locally, potential donators will head to Wal-Mart on Homer Road Saturday from 1 until 6 p.m.
Potential donors must be at least 16 years old or older, in good health, and meet the height/weight requirements for donating.
Sixteen-year-olds will need to bring a signed Minor Donor Permit to be able to donate blood.

All donors must show a photo ID containing name and date of birth, need to have eaten a good meal and be well hydrated. It is suggested donors drink 16 ounces of water 10 to 30 minutes before donating.
