"(A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.) O God, Thou art my God; I shall seek Thee earnestly; My soul thirsts for Thee, my flesh yearns for Thee, In a dry and weary land where there is no water." Psalm 63:1 NASB
David confesses that he has a personal relationship with God. He declares this relationship by stating that God was his God. With all of his being he seeks to know and experience a deep relationship with God.
His desire for God is as great as the desire for water when one is in a dry desert. David was in such a dry, dreadful, desert wilderness. His need for physical water pointed out and emphasized his deep need for spiritual water. Only God could quench this spiritual thirst.
Lord Jesus, You are the living water that can satisfy all my needs. I yearn for a closer walk with You each and every day so that I may know You and experience Your mercy, grace, and love.
