Funeral services for Roderick Ware will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Zion Baptist Church in Doyline. Burial will follow in Fillmore Cemetery in Haughton, under the direction of Benevolent Funeral Home.
Open visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. today (Dec. 27, 2011) at the funeral home.
Roderick Ware was born July 8, 1964 to the late Johnnie Mae Jefferson Ware and Jesse Ware.
He accepted Jehovah at an early age in Rochester, New York, where he spent most of his childhood and early adulthood.
He graduated in 1982 from Wheatland Chili High School, Rochester, New York.
He served in the United States Navy for four and a half years. He was united in holy matrimony to Kara Williams on Dec. 3, 1990. To this union two children were born.
Rod went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at LSU Medical Center.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Mae Ware; grandparents, Munda and Ivory Nell Ware and A.J. and Bobbie Jefferson; aunts, Annie Mae Douglas, Betty Douglas, Dorothy Maxey and Bobbie Winnfield; uncles, William Joe Ware, Munda Ware, Jr. and Albert J. Jefferson.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Kara Ware; two children, Cheyenne and Shydell Ware; father, Jesse Ware; two sisters, Nina and Jessica (Anthony); father-in-law, Lee Vander Williams; mother-in-law, Karen Krotz Meenaghan (John); aunts, Irma Jean Harris (J.D.), Rose Larkins (Steavens) and Luler Harris; uncles, Lee Ware, Sr. (Mildred), Eddis Jefferson, Sr. (Ethel); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
