The Minden Crimson Tide closed out their 2011 regular season with an 8-2 win over Springhill at Griffith Stadium on Monday.
The Lumberjacks got an early 1-0 lead as they scored an unearned run off Minden starter Carson Bolyer in the top of the first inning.
The lead held until the bottom of the third when the Tide scored a run to tie it up. In the next inning, Minden scored five runs to build a 6-1 lead.
Springhill scored another unearned run in the fifth, but the Tide came back with another pair of runs in the bottom of the inning and held on to win, 8-2.
Bolyer started and got the win for the Tide as he pitched an outstanding game. He went six innings allowing just three hits and no earned runs while striking out four. Tanner McBroom pitched a scoreless inning to close out the game.
Turner Francis had a hot bat as he went two-for-four with four RBIs. Coltan Haynes had two doubles and Keith Oliver singled and tripled. Derek Herrington doubled and drove in a run and Hutton Leppert had a RBI-single. Hunter Leppert also drove in a run.
Renaldo Moore had two singles and Tate Smith singled and doubled for Springhill.
Minden finished the regular season with a 12-17 record and Springhill finished 15-15.
