Police pay raise in budget discussion

Although nothing is etched in stone at this point, Minden Chief of Police Steve Cropper may soon have another important tool at his disposal for his department's war on crime. While this weapon doesn't shoot, shock, bite or travel at high speeds, it may prove to be even more helpful.

Increased pay for the men and women of the MPD could be on the horizon when members of the Minden City Council discuss the 2014-15 fiscal year budget in workshops scheduled August 11 and August 13 at 4:30 p.m.
