WASKOM, TEXAS — The Glenbrook Apache baseball team is currently taking part in the Waskom (Texas) Tournament, and they took two wins on Thursday.
In the first game, the Apaches bested the host team, Waskom High School, 11-1.
Logan Clark took the mound and won his first game of the season.
The Apaches' offense came alive somewhat, banging out eight hits.
"I feel like we swung the bat a lot better," coach Jonathan Hardy said. "We're beginning to wait for better pitches to hit, and it's paying off."
Logan Clark and Jacob White each had a pair of singles and Connor Clark added a three-run double. Austin Jones had a pinch-hit two-run triple, and Caleb Wilson doubled. Braden Dickson added a single.
In the second game, Glenbrook blanked Kilgore, 10-0.
Bailey Pettite improved to 2-1 with three strong shutout innings, striking out three.
Connor Clark had 3/4 of a cycle, as he singled, doubled and tripled while driving in a run. Spencer White had a RBI-single and Jacob White and Wilson both doubled. Copeland singled and doubled and Cameron Matthews added a single.
The Apaches will play Gary (Tex.) High School today at 7 p.m. and then will continue the tournament on Saturday.
