Funeral services for Freddie Eugene (Gene) Robinson, Sr. will be held Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden. Officiating will be Rev. John Lavo. Interment will follow at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Gene was born August 30, 1939 in Shreveport and entered into rest Jan. 8, 2013 in Bossier City. He was a member of Brushwood United Methodist Church and President of the Brushwood Cemetery Board. Gene donated the land for Dubberly Fire Department that he was a member of and also President of the Executive Board for Dubberly Fire Department. He developed and taught machine shop at Northwest Louisiana Technical College in Minden. He will be remembered for his ability to accomplish anything he set his mind to. His work ethics were impeccable and he always will be remembered for the love of his family.
His parents, Colvin and Willie Mae Robinson; brother, Irwin Robinson; and his son, Tracy Robinson preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ann Robinson of Dubberly; sons, Freddie E. Robinson, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Timpson, Texas and Eric S. Robinson and wife, Revana of Shreveport; daughters, Lynn McKinnon and husband, Danny of Shreveport and Temi Donaubauer and husband, Paul of Dubberly; sister, Christy Barton and husband, Donald of Dubberly; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Allen Strickland, Freddie Robinson, Paul Donaubauer, Eric Robinson, Coby Barton and Andrew Holford.
Honorary pallbearer will be Danny McKinnon.
