BOSSIER—Glenbrook tennis coach Wayne Orr and his Bossier Men’s Super Senior tennis team recently took first place in the USTA-LA Super Senior 60 and Over Championships held at the Bossier Tennis Center.
The team was undefeated in the round robin competition, defeating teams from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette.
In addition to Orr, team members included team captain Jay Boyd, Alan Cox, Ken Jantz, Mike White, Bob Lettow, Hulen Rodriquez (Natchitoches), Tommy Poljak and Rick Holland.
The team will now advance to the USTA Southern Section Championships that will be held on December 2-4 in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The state winners from the nine southern states will be placed into two divisions of competition, and the division winners will compete for the Southern Section title.
The winner will then advance to the National Championships in Arizona in April 2012. The Southern USTA Section is comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
