Funeral services for Jacqueline Smith Merritt will be held Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Minden. Officiating will be Father Mark Franklin. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today (Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Jacqueline was born June 15, 1953 in Sulphur and entered into rest Jan. 8, 2013 in Minden. She served in the United States Air Force and was a retired pharmacist from Northwest State School in Bossier City. Jacqueline was a quilter and belonged to the Red River Quilters and Nona Sales Quilting and a member of a bowling league at Holiday Lanes.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Buddy Merritt of Fryeburg; parents, John B. and Bernice Smith of Sulphur; sister, Rachel Wilburn and husband, Mark of Sulphur; brother, Steven Smith of Seattle, Washington; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gene Jones, Todd Jones, Scott Jones, Randy Allison, Larry Allison and Chris McGarity.
