A former city director will appeal his termination at Monday's meeting of the Minden City Council.
Tonkon Williams, 48, was terminated from his position as Facilities Director December 6, after a complaint of inappropriate conduct was filed against him. A warrant was obtained for Williams' arrest the following day, and Minden Police picked him up a few days later.
He was charged with sexual battery.
Also appealing his termination is Brian Boulas, an operator at the Wastewater Treatment Plant who was reportedly fired December 6.
Travis Reed was approved unanimously by the city personnel committee as a new police recruit in November, after a recommendation by Chief Steve Cropper.
Members of the Minden City Council will vote on the possiblility of hiring Reed Monday.
In other business, the city council will also address the following items on the agenda:
n Elect a Mayor Pro Tempore;
n Adopt a resolution to apply for a grant for Community Water Enrichment;
n Approve final plat of Johnson re-subdivisions located on Longleaf Drive; and,
n Hear the police report.
The council meets at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Minden City Hall.
