North Webster falls to Haynesville

HAYNESVILLE-The North Webster Knights didn't quite open their first season as a school they would have wanted. The Knights dropped a 25-6 decision to long-time Springhill rival Haynesville on Friday.

The Knights' defense played well in the first half, limiting the Golden Tornado to just seven points. But Haynesville scored on their first two possessions off the third quarter to take 19-0 lead into the fourth.

North Webster got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter to cut the lead to 19-6 as North Webster quarterback J.O. Smith completed a 10-yard scoring pass to Lyntravious Gipson. Haynesville would close out the scoring later in the fourth, intercepting a pass and returning it 24-yards for the score, making the final 25-6.
